Themes are what make your site unique and attractive. Today we will start with the basics and have a look on how to change themes in WordPress
Go to the left sidebar menu and hover your mouse on appearance . After you hover your mouse you will see the Themes option. Click on Themes. After you have clicked on Themes, you should be able to see all the Themes available to use for your site.
Your current theme
The current theme of your site will be the first to appear on the Theme’s page. It is highlighted and under it, you will see the theme’s name and Active. Active tells you that this theme is the current theme of your site. On the right of your theme’s name, you can see the customize button. This button allows you to customize your current theme. We will show you a few basic customization techniques in a later article.
Choosing another theme
Another way to change themes in WordPress is by picking another theme that’s found in your Themes page. Clicking on a different theme from the one that is active will give you information about the theme you just clicked on. You can use the arrows at the top to flip through different themes that are available to you.
At the bottom of the page, you will see two buttons. One is Activate, which would replace your old theme with the new one, and the other button is Live Preview, which would give a preview of what the new theme would look like on your site. You can preview different settings before making them live. They are found on the right-hand side when you click the Live Preview button.
Clicking the Change button on Live Preview will allow you to look at other themes without having to look at the customizer.
Once you have found the theme that you like for your website, click the Save & Activate button at the top of the screen.
Remember that there are many different themes out there. For now we will take baby steps towards getting the perfect theme for your site.
